NRF’s participation in the third edition of Chaitra Mela Health Camp 2025

The Neuroaid and Research foundation (NRF) participated in the third edition of Chaitra Mela held over two days, from March 29 to March 30, 2025, at the Purbosree Mahila Samiti premises in Chittaranjan Park (C.R. Park), New Delhi.

This festival, rooted in tradition, marks the end of the Bengali calendar month of Chaitra, and is celebrated with an array of folk crafts, sweet treats, handlooms, and more.  The mela infused local vibrancy with stalls featuring handicrafts, handlooms, and Sonajhuri items from Shantiniketan, alongside delectable food and beverages.  It also spotlighted the talents of specially abled children, senior citizens, emerging local artists, and notable performers from Bengal, fostering a community spirit through cultural expression.

The mela’s central purpose was its multi-specialty medical camp, designed to offer free consultations and health screenings to seniors and persons in distress.

Air Commodore Swapan Samaddar VSM (Retd.), President of the Help and Heal Foundation Trust, shared trust’s core mission – Healthcare for all. Ms. Rajalakshmi Chandru, Vice President, Patient services, Apollo Hospital, Delhi and esteemed trustee of NRF were felicitated during the inaugural ceremony. Her presence added great value to this occasion.

Esteemed doctors from leading Delhi hospitals such as PSRI, Max and Fortis Escorts provided expert care. NRF provided various facilities such as Physiotherapy consultation, Neuropathy testing, bone densitometry and Pulmonary function testing. With a vision to serve society, The Neuroaid and Research Foundation remains committed to enhancing community well-being by combining compassion with quality health care aids.

Other services available were basic blood test, medical consultations, eye testing and audiometry. This year Mammography, delivered via a mobile medical van in collaboration with Max Hospital was added to the list of services.

The event benefited over 350 attendees, with hundreds of residents from diverse backgrounds seeking both cultural joy and essential support.

Chaitra Mela 2025 by Help and Heal Foundation Trust was more than a cultural fair—it was a holistic community endeavour, blending compassionate healthcare with cultural celebration.
